One item you’ll find in all the Yu Lan / Hungry Ghost Festival’s in Hong Kong are three GIGANTIC incese / joss sticks. Now, yes, there will be joss sticks burning all over but you’ll always find three GINORMOUS sticks which will be facing the main altar.
Unlike other incense / joss sticks, these will be quite ornate. Here we see a close up of one such incense stick, it’s already half-way burned through.
