Continued from this post on Tung Lung Chau.
At this point, I’ve only explored 2/3 of Tung Lung Chau but for some reason I’m feeling quite crap. I fear I may be at risk of heat stroke if I continue on, so I come back to the island cafe for a rest and a drink.
They have herbal teas (leung cha) but there are three varieties and I can’t read Chinese. I tell the man to bring me one of each. This elicits a respons from him! Surprise! Shock! I am now memorable as I’m only the second person to make this order! As I sit and enjoy my three drinks, the proprietor regales all those who walk in (all three of them) about the time that I ordered three (THREE!) drinks to have all to myself.
I sit and update my blog as I wait for the ferry to arrive and whisk me back to airconditioned comfort of my apartment. An old lady, stooped over with age, attempts to engage me in conversation but I have to proffer (broken) apologies as I don’t speak the language. Old ladies are chatty, I would like to know what they have to say. I must learn the language if I want to hear the tales.
