Sometimes what I see on the streets of Mong Kok amazes me. For example this artist here, he paints incredibly lifelike images of groceries on to canvas shopping bags. You can see a few of them in the background.
Just take a look at the Bok Choy that’s painting right now. That’s not a Chinese cabbage in his hands, he’s actually painting it. If you look carefully at the canvas shopping bags that are hanging in the background you’ll notice that they’re creased, as though the item is lying on top of the bag – the creases are painted on too.
That’s an incredible amount of detail that’s gone into his work. I was just passing by this time as I was in a rush (not so much in a hurry that I couldn’t spend 30 second on an iPhone snap, mind you) but you can bet I’ll be buying a bag or two the next time I see him on the streets.
